The first single off my new album Mosaic, the piece is inspired by a quote from missionary Ruth Stull, "if my life is broken when given to Jesus, it is because pieces will feed a multitude while a loaf will satisfy only a little lad."

Better Off Broken follows the internal struggle of the suffering servant of Christ--exploring the pride (verse one), self pity (verse 2), ironic bitterness (chorus), the growing hope and acceptance (bridge), and final understanding (outro).

My prayer in this song is that my own struggle to embrace brokenness will help others to accept the cracks in their own souls, and let them be filled by the liquid gold and grace of the Spirit of Christ.
